As we go into the final weeks and days of the year, many of us anticipate spending time with family and friends. This is a season for joy, filled with love, laughter, food… and stress. Stress from trying to do too much. Stress from overeating. Stress just because you’re away from your normal routine.
Enjoy the season. Feast on friendship and love. Remember the reason for the season. People talk about love, peace, and goodwill toward men during this time of year. Remember that those things come from our loving heavenly Father, who yearns to have an intimate relationship with each of us.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Above all, be kind to yourself. Extend your goodwill and cheer to yourself. Allow yourself to be imperfect. Allow yourself some fun. Allow yourself to love and be loved. (It’s impossible to love others if you don’t love yourself.)
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:23
Wishing you the merriest holiday season, no matter what holiday you’re celebrating!
